Types of internships
Currently places are offered in Childcare, Hospitality, Education and Tourism. However, if you have a specific field in mind not offered here, submit an application and we will begin the search. Active searching does not start until applications and deposits have been received.
- Unpaid placement in area of choice, as close as can be matched
- Some qualifications & experience required
- Written assessment of applicant's performance by host
- The minimum internship stay is 4 weeks but the number of weeks being applied for is negotiable. On average expect to work approximately 20 hours per week with negotiated days off
- Meals & accommodation may be provided on some internship placements. However,where not provided, suitable accommodation can be arranged and would need to be paid for by the applicant
- Interns can add additional programmes while in NZ, such as Farmstay or Horselovers, to extend their stay

Childcare
For those with experience and some training, the intern programme allows you to work in pre-school establishments. Expect to set up play activities, interact in education groups and learn how the system works in NZ.
Education
Currently limited opportunities exist in Australia in the primary sector and require very specific screening. For more information, please contact Leisure Learn
Tourism & Hospitality
Apart from horse operations, we can offer some positions in cafes, accommodation and adventure businesses. Expect to do basic office work, cleaning, running errands ,washing dishes and general outdoor work.
