Activities

Students who choose to do the short General English course with recreational activities can select 3 activities from Boxes A and /or B below. These activities run on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Box C offers suggestions for interesting things to do on weekends.

Box A NZD 40 per session


NZ Cooking Learn to bake traditional favourites that are easily cooked at home
Knitting & Felting Create a knitted hat and scarf and add felted buttons, using pure NZ wool *Needs 3 sessions to complete
Painting class Learn some basic techniques with an established artist
Mosaic tile Using a simple tile shape, learn the technique of creating mosaics.
Hire a Bike Discover the tracks around Methven on a bike. Includes rental , helmet & maps
Golf Includes rental and drop off / pick up at the local course. Does not include green fees

Box B NZD 70 per session


Horse-riding lessons Travel to a local farm and be shown the basics with an experienced rider
Dog Training Have a pooch and need to teach it a few rules? Lessons in dog control
Sight-seeing Travel by bus to the mighty Rakaia River. Have a coffee at luxurious Terrace Downs club rooms
Farm Visit Travel to a local farm and see the animals. Help with feeding
Garden Tour Visit a farm garden and a town garden. Inspirational
